![]() There's very real consequences in Sin and Punishment - making every loss hurt more yet making every victory so much more sweeter. Time to restart from the beginning and hopefully learn from your prior mistakes. In the most literal sense possible: your game is over. Good luck beating it on any difficulty without using a continue, because it's nigh impossible. You earn hit points for each enemy you kill, and every 100 hit points results in an extra continue. Completing the hard difficulty will require you to become a god of multitasking through trial-and-error. Be warned, this game is not for the faint of heart, nor for those who are unable to rub their belly and pat their head at the same time. It was not an uncommon scenario to be jumping over massive lasers shooting at Saki's feet while strafing to avoid midair explosives while shooting at enemies and reflecting missiles with the laser sword. Absolutely everything in this game is out to kill you. I managed to beat the game on all three difficulites, and I now understand the "Punishment" part of the title. Anyone who is desperate for a true Star Fox 64 successor will certainly get their fix with Sin and Punishment. It's a well built rail shooter that deserves more attention than it got at the time of its release (and re-release). I've recently completed Sin and Punishment on the Wii's Virtual Console, and I'm surprised how little the series has been discussed on this subreddit.
